ev. Dr. Diana Francis, named after her grandmother, was born to the proud parentage of the late Rev. Dr. Earl Francis and Dr. Marjorie Francis. Rev. Diana received her high school education at Aquinas College, where she graduated as the Class’ Valedictorian. In 1988 she went onto tertiary education at Barry University, Miami Florida, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology (Pre-Medicine). As a former Educator, she has taught Science and Physical Education at C. I. Gibson Senior High and St. Augustine’s College, Nassau, Bahamas, respectively. Rev. Diana served in ministry under the direction and leadership of her father, the late Rev. Dr. Earle Francis at First Baptist Church, Nassau, Bahamas. In 1992, she was set aside as a Licensed Minister and was Ordained to the sacred Gospel Ministry in 1997. From 2004-2014 she served as Co-Pastor of First Baptist, serving as first Assistant to her father. Rev. Francis currently serves as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church and has served in full-time ministry at this church since May 2001. Rev. Diana was the host of the dynamic youth television broadcast, "U Gat Issues" and presently serves as National President of Student Christian Movement (SCM Bahamas).
Rev. Dr. Francis is a Marriage Officer and serves as a Justice of the Peace of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. In June 2018, under the presidency of Rev. Dr. Lloyd Smith, Bahamas Baptist Convention President, she was installed as the Chancellor of Education for the Baptist schools in the Bahamas. Shortly thereafter, she was the recipient of an honorary Doctorate Degree in Divinity from the New Destiny School of Ministry, Detroit, Michigan. Rev. Dr. Diana is a motivational, youth advocate, Conference speaker, songwriter, and the author of the book, “Straight Up Youth Talk!” The call of God on her life has taken her throughout the Bahamas and beyond. Indeed, Rev. Francis loves the Lord and lives to “touch lives for the Kingdom of God.” Pastor Diana has served as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church since September 11, 2014.
